A major anti-trafficking conference is taking place in Abuja, Nigeria this week. Organised by the Santa Marta Group and hosted by Caritas Nigeria. It has as its theme “Church and state working together to restore dignity to trafficked persons”. It is the first Santa Marta Group Africa Regional Conference.
Caritas Sierra Leone has launched an awareness raising campaign on illegal migration and human trafficking. Funded by the Dutch Ministry of Justice, the campaign is designed to make Sierra Leoneans aware of the risks and dangers associated with illegal migration especially human trafficking and modern slavery.
In March 2018, Talitha Kum Thailand organised a training course for their members to empower them for there work in the next year on anti-human trafficking in Thailand.
The training was run by Buddhist nuns from the monastery Sathine Dhammasathan.
