Interview: Daniel Ragsdale
In this short interview we speak to Daniel Ragsdale, the Deputy Director of ICE – the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.
Mr Ragsdale was in the Vatican speaking at the 2016 Santa Marta Group conference.
He stressed to delegates that human trafficking must be given the same attention and resource as the war on drugs and the war on terror.
The Deputy Director also provided an 114 victims were rescued and multiple individuals arrested, dismantling a human trafficking network.
Here we discuss the scale of the task ICE is facing, an overview of ‘Operation Clear Hope’ – a multi-agency investigation into people who were travelling to Colombia to have sex with children, global networking and cooperation, the immigration debate and its impacts on the work, and the short to medium-term goals.
