Santa Marta Group Conference 2018

Fifth Conference – Rome, February 2018

The fifth international Santa Marta Conference is due to take place in Rome at the Pontifical Academy of Sciences from 8 – 9 February.

The conference will bring together leaders in law enforcement and the Church from around the world who are practically working together to eradicate modern slavery and human trafficking at a local level.

Representatives from over 30 countries will be attending as well as international agencies.

The conference will focus on what human trafficking and modern slavery looks like in different geographical regions.

This year the conference will include the feast day of St Josephine Bakhita on the 8 February, who is our patron saint, having been a survivor of human trafficking herself.

During the conference there will be live tweeting which can be followed on @santamartagroup and on #SMG18.
