Seasonal Agricultural Workers Seminars

Following the government announcement on the 16th March 2020 regarding the next stages of the UK’s plans to tackle Covid-19, we are writing to inform you, unfortunately, of the cancellation of the two events on the Seasonal Agricultural Workers scheduled to take place on the 28th March 2020 at West Malling and 4th April 2020 at Canterbury, Kent.

As we are sure you are aware, the coronavirus situation and the Government advice in response to it continues to progress and adapt at pace. We are, therefore, taking measured action in response to each announcement, to the best of our ability within short time-frames.

We are sorry for the inconveniences that this may cause you. We hope to reschedule the event in the future.

It is a fact that human trafficking exists in every country, and in some form in every city and town.

The county of Kent is seen as one of the many ‘hot spots’ in the UK.

It is hard for us to comprehend that human beings are being tricked, deceived and traded in our part of the world.

As part of its work to combat human trafficking and modern slavery, the Santa Marta Group seeks to raise awareness of the plight of seasonal agricultural workers and the abuses they face.

As Kent has been identified as a ‘hot spot’, the Santa Marta Group has organised two training days in Kent – one in West Malling, the other in Canterbury.
